Oberreichenbach is a small village about 25 km west of Erlangen and surprising well-connected by bus via Herzogenaurach, thanks mostly to that town’s being home to both Adidas and Puma. The village itself is fairly unremarkable but there are lots of trails suitable for both hiking and biking, some going further afield but also many circular routes. Of course for the beerwanderer, the reason to be there is the Brauereigasthof Geyer and its Felsenkeller just on the edge of the village and seemingly on every circular route. With a mixture of dense forest and many ponds, it makes for varied walking and is also an excellent area for birding.
