Neunhof was first mentioned in documents in 1109. More contemporarily, it’s a pretty hamlet featuring two small castles and some fine half-timbered architecture. It’s conveniently located close to Nürnberg and is easily reached by a public transportation.

The village is set in pretty countryside not far from the Pegnitz River so there are numerous trails emanating from it including one which takes you to small castles in neighboring villages.

It’s quite a busy little spot and while a pretty enough place, it wouldn’t likely attract so many visitors if it weren’t for their real treasure, Brauerei Wiethaler and their lovely Gasthof & Biergarten.
