Founded in 1994, this is a typical brewpub of the 90s with the requisite copper kettles and vaulted ceilings. It’s central location ensures a bustling atmosphere and the steady stream of warm typical Franconian dishes keeps them happy.
I was here in 2001 for a quick beer on a whistle-stop tour of Nürnberg on my way to Bamberg so didn’t have time to eat. Their house Dunkles was serviceable but certainly not worth coming all the way to Germany for. I’ve been to Nürnberg quite a few times since and haven’t even thought of going back in even though you nearly have to pass it to get anywhere in the tourist area of town.
