The Bierkeller reopens
Der Zentbechhöfner Bierkeller reopened on Easter weekend 2026 after being closed for a number of years. It’s been completely rebuilt and redesigned. Our first visit impressed us with good use of existing trees and some young trees which will provide ample shade in the future. Seating is comfortable with back support even on most of the benches. There’s a small playground for the kids at the edge of the facility, making it easy enough to avoid. Both drinks and food dispensaries are new and efficient. Bathrooms are modern and clean.

Der Zentbechhöfner Bierkeller beers
The Zentbechhöfner Bierkeller has an interesting line-up of beers on tap. Local Brauerei Friedel supplies a special Hausbier exclusively for them. This turns out to be their Kellerbier, which is only available here and or at the brewery tap. Quite interesting is Schlenkerla unfiltered Lagerbier, another fairly exclusive find. Rounding things out is Rittmayer alcohol free Helles. This was only in bottles the day we visited but it is listed as generally on tap. Alcohol free beers are becoming increasingly popular but whether they can warrant a tap handle is yet to be seen. Both beers I sampled were in excellent form, poured perfectly and nicely in branded glassware.

Food
Der Zentbechhöfner Bierkeller has a varied food options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Along with the typical Brotzeit options, there are some salads to round out the cold options. If that weren’t enough, they not only have warm snacks but full roast meals. To help cut down on the lines, they give you a vibrating buzzer to alert you when your food is ready. We got the Kellerplatte, which was excellent quality and came with four slices of bread. The Pfefferbeißer were also quite good and the pretzel fresh. Our healthy option was a large mixed salad topped with mini mozzarella balls.

Desserts
Bierkellers have become quite aware of the need to have cake since they are generally open at the typical German Kuchenzeit. Der Zentbechhöfner Bierkeller is no exception. Though we were pretty full, we split a piece of cherry cake. My wife had a coffee while I went for another beer. They also have a fair selection of wines for a Keller, as well as an assortment of cocktails.

Kuchenzeit & the drinks line-up
Service at Der Zentbechhöfner Bierkeller was friendly and efficient. The overall feel was a warm welcome so it’s not surprising that it’s been very busy. The beer and food were all in top form. Add to that the exclusive nature of the beers on tap and it’s a must visit destination. Their website is still not quite finished but the one super useful feature is a live update on whether it is open. Since it’s a bit out of the way, it’s nice to keep people from showing up to a closed Bierkeller.
