The atmosphere:
The Diller Keller is an idyllic lush Bierkeller on the edge of Dörfleins that is easily accessed from Bamberg by public transportation or cycling/walking paths. With the Main River running right along the path that reaches it, the area is a hiking/biking paradise. The beer/food dispensary may not be half-timbered but its setting makes this a scenic classic venue nonetheless. There’s lots of rooms for the kids to play too.
the Bockbieranstich gets under way
The 1st visit, Hönig Bockbieranstich:
Diller Keller had been on our list for years but despite its ease of access, it took the Hönig Bockbieranstich of 2025 to get us out there. We arrived just as it started and it quickly started filling up. I hadn’t realized just how easy it was to reach so we will surely be returning more often. The Hönig Bockbier was outstanding. So much so that we scraped our plans of going to another Anstich nearby. The Steaksemmel was also tasty so I’d be happy to try their other foods on a normal Keller day. From reports, the food get high marks.

Diller Keller is the kind of increasingly rare small authentic Bierkeller which are closing down at an alarming rate. It’s easy to reach and has very friendly opening hours. It even has an indoor facility which makes going in the cooler months possible. So, let’s get out there and support them.
