Schrauder Keller atmosphere:
The Schrauder Keller is an idyllic leafy Bierkeller on the edge of Pettstadt that is easily accessed from Bamberg by public transportation or cycling/walking paths. With lots of big trees, there is ample shade. The layered aspect of the seating along with the half-timbered beer/food dispensary makes for a scenic classic venue. Though fairly small, there is a stage for live bands which surely draws people in with its easy to reach location. Let’s not forget they have gravity dispensed beer, the reason we came in the first place.

very happy to see beer from the barrel & leafy trees
Kellerbier from the barrel & food:
Schrauder Keller had been on my list for years but great reports of the quality of the gravity dispensed Löwenbräu Kellerbier finally got me out there on a fine sunny day. I hadn’t realized just how easy it was to reach so will surely be returning more often. The beer was in fine form and the plate of Dosenfleisch ample and of good quality. They also offer warm meals daily and larger ones on weekends. That makes it a good option for Sunday lunch in the countryside.
a truly authentic Keller
Schrauder Keller is the kind of increasingly rare small authentic Bierkeller which are closing down at an alarming rate. It’s easy to reach and has very friendly opening hours. It even has an indoor facility which makes going in the cooler months possible. So, get out there and support them.
Beers: Löwenbräu Kellerbier from gravity dispense.
