Opened in 2021 in one of Bayreuth’s oldest buildings, Leon’s is a simple but cozy pub with a low-light interior and airy seating out front. Their calling card is an ever changing regional draft beer along with the most popular cocktails. With Bayreuth’s close proximity to Franconian Switzerland, the owner Leon brings in beer from there on a rotational basis. It was Held-Bräu Hell the afternoon I stopped in and with the popularity of Stöckel in town, I imagine it would be another favorite here.

A local friend pointed out the pub so wanted to check it out but no sure I’d return unless there was something interesting on tap. This is easy to see as there is a chalk board out front heralding the weekly beer. If just looking for a beer, it’s certainly a comfy place to do it.
