Not only is the Obere Mühle a great Biegarten but it also rents canoes and kayaks for those who want to ply the River Itz and don’t have a boat of their own. For us, it was even more pivotal in our trip as without them, we would have never found out about this fantastic beery adventure.

Helmut is a very friendly and humorous operator and his prices are more than reasonable. Canoes are €25 per day. He provides all you need including a basic waterproof map and gives you tips on how to do your trip. In our case, he even provided a waterproof bag for my camera. Thanks again, Helmut. We’ll surely be back!
