The original Hümmer Brauerei was founded in 1642 but sadly closed in 2011. They reopened on a much smaller scale in back of their Pension Karin. It took a long time to get out for a visit but the owners were very communicative and the brewer super friendly. He showed me his admittedly little set-up and gave me his Güßbacher Zwickel to sample. There is a sign for the brewery in the courtyard of the pension and they are open for bottle sales at reasonable hours or call/e-mail ahead. They will get back to you.

 small scale Hümmer Bräu

I had tried to visit a few times over the years but the limited opening hours seemed to always thwart me. Though I knew the Biergarten was currently not open, I asked if it was okay to have a look. Even on a dismal day, it was such a lovely place. You could see all the work they’d put into it with so many personal touches.

a lovely Biergarten that hopefully reopens

I hope they can find staff to work the Biergarten. It seems like a great job for a kid in summer. I’ll be sure to make my way there if I hear it is. For those from out of the area, Pension Karin looked like a great place to stay and this Biergarten is pretty much there only for overnight guests now. So, get yourself some bottles and enjoy.
