My wife and I loved the entire day!! We met Rich at the main train station in Munich. After a short train ride we arrived and began our hike up St. James Trail on our way to Andechs Monastery. Rich who was very friendly and knowledgable. He not only knew the area, but was super informative about all kinds of beer. Frankly, the hiking fun and the Monastery was awesome, but it was Rich that made our day so special for my wife and I. We have done several walking, hiking as well as biking tours throughout Europe and I would say Rich has been our best guide. We highly recommend you experience this adventure in Bavaria with the Italian kid from Philadelphia,USA.

I'm an American living in Munich. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also just published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria. View all posts by beerwanderers
