Founded in 2012 and heralded as the smallest brewery in Franconia, Hertl is a true family affair. Specializing craft beer in Franconia is no easy feat but the Hertl family seems more than up for it. The brewery is right on their premises so please call and they will open at least the bottle store even at last minute if they are around.

There is a small tasting area that is cozy as well as a nice outdoor seating area. These are available for private tours with advance notice and can be done in many languages. The brewer was not around that day but his father was happy to open the store so we could buy a few bottles and very nicely showed us around the tasting area and small brewery.
