Impression: Schlossbrauerei Reckendorf Gambrinus Bock is a deep golden example of a Heller Bock. The creamy head and richly malty nose tinged with honey are enticing. The richly malty palate is more of the same with understated but fair hopping. The lingering finish is semi-dry and bittersweet. Odd to find this on tap in August but Biersalon Coburg springs unusual beers out from time to time, seemingly always in good shape. Wasn’t looking for a Bock but couldn’t resist.
