Impression: Brauerei Pröls Kirchweihbier is a classic Märzen. The amber hue, off-white rocky head and spicy nose set the stage. The balanced palate is richly malty with some spice and understated hops. The lingering finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. It’s great to see the new local brewery being the featured beer at the town’s annual church festival.

Glad to see that beer was offered at a church festival, Rich, which made me wonder if it was a Catholic or Protestant one. Then I thought, it really doesn’t matter as long as the Beerwanderer liked the beer. Cheers
Most of Bavaria is Catholic but Franconia is more of a mixed bag. That area in particular has pockets of Protestants. Interestingly, if a town is more Protestant, they do not get the Catholic holidays off!
