Impression: Brauerei Pröls Rotbier is an unfiltered amber with an off-white rocky head and fruity nose. This richly malty interpretation of style is balanced with a nice fruity note and fair hopping. It’s heading in the Märzen vein at 5.5% but perhaps a bit too fruity for a style more noted for spice. The lingering finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. I’d say it’s better than most of the Rotbiers I’ve tried.
