Kaiserdom Pilsner on tap
Brewery: Kaiserdom
Town: Bamberg (Gaustadt)
Style: Pils 4.9%
Color: light golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: light hop
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, spicy hoppy, light grain
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Efendi in Bamberg.
Impression: Kaiserdom Pilsener on tap doesn’t seem as dry as the bottle I had a few years ago but it was rushed beer at best. I’ve never been a fan of the .4L Pilsener glass, especially if you only have time for one. It’s certainly a German Pils. It’s not amazing or particularly Franconian but it’s easily as drinkable as Fäßla Gold Pils. I’ll have Kaiserdom Pilsener on tap first next time I visit Efendi and reserve final judgement for a more leisurely tasting.
