Brewery: Drossenfelder Bräuwerk
Town: Neudrossenfeld
Style: Märzen/Red Lager 4.8%
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, creamy, rocky, chiffon-like, lasting
Nose: citrusy, mown grass
Body: medium
Palate: citrus hop forward, fruity, good malt backbone
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: on tap at the brewery.

Impression: This was one gorgeous pour with a super formidable head that lasted well into the glass. The citrusy nose was enticing on this warm sunny day and the hop forward balanced palate was an intriguing mix of traditional and Craft Beer. It was evidently a bit stronger in previous incarnations and on the brewery website, it was listed as a 5.5% Märzen. On the restaurant website, it’s a 4.8% India Red Lager. I’d say the latter probably was the case.
