Brauhaus Rossach Hausbier
Brewery: Brauhaus Rossach
Town: Rossach
Style: Hausbier
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: off-white, creamy
Nose: nice mix of malt & hops
Body: medium, low carbonation
Palate: balanced, malty, hoppy, light grain
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: from gravity dispense at the brewery
Impression: This was a gorgeous pour in a Steinkrug with a protruding head. There’s a lovely mix of hops and malt in the nose. It’s got great balance with a sublimely dry lingering finish. This defines the rustic nature of Franconian beer.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
