Impression: I thought their Dunkles Festbier was pretty to look at but this Jubiläums Eichen Bock Rauch is in another dimension with a total chiffon, ivory, ample, rocky head and a deep chestnut hue. There’s a hint of smoke in the richly malty nose featuring some burnt caramel. The palate follows through right into the lingering semi-dry, bittersweet finish. Though very rich, there is ample hopping offsetting any hint of a cloying finish. It’s quite dry for a 7.4% beer.
