Kanone Sommerseidla
Brewery: Kanone
Town: Schnaittach
Style: low alcohol Zwickel 3.1%
Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: citrusy hops
Body: medium
Palate: citrus hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bitter
Served: on tap at the Kanone Bräustüberl
Impression: Good looking low octane summer beer with a creamy head and citrusy nose. As you might expect, it’s hop forward with lots of citrus in the initial flavor but there’s some malt backbone to not make it overly dry or one dimensional. The lingering finish is a touch too bitter for me but it’s not over the top. It’s certainly a very tasty beer at 3.1%.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
