Glenk Bräu Pils on tap
Brewery: Glenk Bräu
Town: Bayreuth
Style: Pils 4.8%
Color: light golden
Head: white, sudsy, thinning
Nose: grainy, hint of hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, grainy
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the Glenk Garten (Kreta Greek restaurant)
Impression: I finally got to the Glenk Garten but it’s now a Greek restaurant. It’s certainly a pleasant spot and busy enough on a cool Sunday evening. The Glenk Pils is similarly unspectacular on tap as in the bottle but easy enough to drink. I’m sure it would be fine with the tasty smelling food. It’s very malt forward and definitely a helles rather than Pils. The lingering finish isn’t overly sticky but it’s not inviting me to have another.
