Wagner Pils
Brewery: Wagner
Town: Merkendorf
Style: Pild 4.9%
Color: golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: grainy, Hallertau hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, light grain, hoppy
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: I’d seen quite a few people online remarking how good this was and since I’d not had it, I gave it a try. It’s a good looking golden Pils with a creamy white head and nice mix of grain and hops in the nose. Balanced palate is the same and textbook German Pilsner material. Very nice but I’d choose the unfiltered Lagerbier over it every time.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
