Impression: The Kaltebraten plate was so big I needed a fourth beer to polish it off and with the house beers behind me, I was tempted by the Meister Vollbier but decided on the Pyraser Kellerbier and was glad I did. I went inside to confirm the beers were on tap and was treated by the manager’s pour and a massive rocky lasting head. Visual presentation does make a difference. In the end, though, it’s the flavor that counts and this was my favorite of my 24 hours in town. It’s rounded with a perfect dryness. At 18 IBU, it’s a great example of a beer not needing bitterness to attain a moreishly dry finish.
