Impression: I was happy to be gifted this rare seasonal as I’d not been in the pub when it was available and not sure I’d drink a bottled beer with their legendary barrel Lager to enjoy. This poured a little lacking in effervescence and the sudsy head dissipated relatively fast. There’s strong banana and alcohol in the fruity nose and it follows into the richly malty palate. The lingering finish manages relative dryness considering the banana alcohol blast. It’s two months to expiration and Zehendner beers are rustic and generally best drunk sooner than later so though I like it, I’d reserve judgement for perhaps a fresher sample.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
