Würburger Hofbräu Hell

Brewery: Würburger Hofbräu
Town:
Würzburg
Style:
Helles 5.1%
Color: golden

Head: white
, creamy, rocky
Nose: malty,
light grain
Body:
medium
Palate:
malty, very light grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry

Served: on tap at Am Kranen

Impression: It’s certainly a well-presented deep golden Helles with a fair head and lightly grainy nose. It’s quite malty with just a touch of hops and while not overly sweet, it’s not particularly interesting. It’s cleaner than the Goldene Gans Helles I just had but not as intriguing. Food options are much better and looks to be very popular but the setting isn’t quite as nice. The Pils was better even as a Helles from memory and available from Holzfass from 17-19:00.
