Wiesener Festmärzen

golden beer in pewter-lidded mug with bottle
Wiesener Festmärzen

Brewery: Bürgerliches Brauhaus
Town: Wiesen (bei Aschaffenburg)
Style: Märzen 5.6
%
Color: unfiltered deep golden

Head:
white, creamy, sudsy
Nose: richly malty,
spicy
Body: full
Palate: balanced, richly malty, spicy, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery

Impression: Gorgeous unfiltered golden Märzen with a creamy white head and richly malty spicy nose. Balanced palate follows suit. The lingering finish is semi-dry and bittersweet. I always expect an amber when it comes to Märzens but it’s also labeled a Fest and looks more the part. The flavor though is unmistakably a Märzen in a richly malty spicy way.
