Color: mahogany
Head: off-white, creamy
Nose: light roast
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, roasty
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: on tap at Kösseinehaus in the Fichtelgebirge Nature Park

Impression: I’d quite liked a few of the Hönicka beers I’d tried so was disappointed to find their “Dunkles Spezialbier” a bit lackluster. I finally got a chance to have it on tap at the renowned Kösseinehaus and it was a mahogany beauty with a creamy head and lightly roasty nose. Maybe it’s the Czech food but a bit of a Tmave feel. Some dried fruit peeks through with the plum dumplings. 😉
