unfiltered dark beer in narrow logo glass with huge head and beer coaster with duck on it
‘s Antla Flößer

Brewery: ‘s Antla
Town: Kronach
Style: Dunkel 5.1%
Color: unfiltered mahogany
Head: off-white, rocky, chiffon-like
Nose: grainy, roasty, hoppy
Body: medium
grainy, roasty, hoppy
Finish: lingering, semi-dry,  semi-bitter

Served: on tap at the brewery

Impression: Nine beers on tap plus one cider. Glad they have .3l pours. The Dunkles comes out impressively with a chiffon-like head that looks to last through the beer. Hops and roast in the nose and palate too. It’s a bit over the top in your face but have to admit it’s not sticky and it’s very dry. Two qualities I generally like. I would have never expected a Dunkel like this in a place with a duck on its Bierdeckl. Still not 100% sure I really liked it but I didn’t not like it either. I think it took me by such surprise I still haven’t quite come to terms with it.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
