Impression:  This is brewed at Kaiserhof by the son under the O-Bräu label. This Heller Bock is heading into Doppelbock territory at 7.8%. While not prominent, the alcohol is obvious in both the honey tinged nose and richly malty palate. It’s a full-bodied sipper but it’s the rare Heller Doppelbock that grabs me and I’d prefer this one to be considerably weaker and a notch drier. It’s not sticky for the strength and I wouldn’t deter anyone into the style from getting it. I probably wouldn’t have it again unless I saw it on tap and that’s highly unlikely.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
