O-Bräu Märzen (Kaiserhof)

amber beer in pewter-lidded mug with bottle with cat on it
O-Bräu Märzen

Brewery: Kaiserhof
Town: Kronach
Style: Märzen 5.9%
Color: unfiltered amber
Head: white, creamy, bready
Nose: richly
malty, spicy
Body: full
Palate: balanced, richly
malty, lightly spicy, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in Kronach

Impression: This is brewed at Kaiserhof by the son under the O-Bräu label. This Märzen is in the classic style mold, richly malty and spicy. The underlying hops dry it out in the finish which has a touch too much bitterness for my taste and generally for the style. Still glad I picked it up and my wife loves the cat label.
