Kaiserhof Mariechen naturtrüb

Brewery: Kaiserhof
Town: Kronach
Style: Kellerbier 4.5%

Nose: light grain, floral hops
Body: medium, effervescent
Palate: malty
, lightly grainy, light hop
Finish: lingering, sticky

Served: on tap at Bastion Marie in Kronach

Impression: This is made for Bastion Marie by Kaiserhöfer. Though it looks quite a bit like a Weizen, it’s more in the light Kellerbier mold. It’s got some floral hops in the otherwise lightly grainy nose but they only transpire partially in the largely malty palate, leaving the finish wandering as much as lingering, and unfortunately on the sticky side. It’s a bit on the fizzy side as well. Not bad but I wouldn’t get it again. The owner gifted me a bottle of the filtered version of this beer and I found it much cleaner, and better.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
