Kaiserhof Weisser Kaiser
Brewery: Kaiserhof
Town: Kronach
Style: Weizen 5.3%
Color: lemony honeycomb
Head: white, rocky, chiffon-like
Nose: fruity, citrusy, yeasty
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, fruity, citrusy, yeasty
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, tangy
Served: from a bottle bought in Kronach
Impression: The was one gorgeous refreshing looking Weizen with a massive chiffon like head and citrusy nose. The fruity palate followed through on its thirst quenching visual promise. The tangy lingering finish was enticingly semi-dry. One of my favorite Weizens from Franconia. Would definitely buy again.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
