Günther-Bräu Pilsner on tap

Brewery: Günther-Bräu
Town: Burgkunstadt
Style: Pils 4.9
%
Color: light golden

Head:
white, creamy
Nose:
nice mix of hops and grain
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, hoppy, light grain
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: on tap at Royal in Burgkunstadt

Impression: I’d just about given up but my thirst is quenched. Light golden with a creamy head and a lightly grainy/hoppy nose. Tastes pretty much the same with the hops taking the lead. It’s fairly malty and definitely in the Franconian Pils family rather than northern Germany. The finish lingers but not in a bad way. Think I’ll have another. As you can see, I was very thirsty after what was looking like a failed attempt to find a Günther-Bräu beer on tap right in the town where it’s brewed. Not to be denied!
