Günther-Bräu Bernstein Lagerbier

amber beer in pewter lidded mug with bottle
Günther-Bräu Bernstein Lagerbier

Brewery: Günther-Bräu
Town: Burgkunstadt
Lagerbier 4.9%
Color: amber

Head: off-
white, rocky, chiffon-like
grainy, grassy hops
Body: medium

Palate: balanced, grainy, hoppy
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in Bayreuth

Impression: Gorgeous amber hue with a lasting rocky head and grainy nose with some grassy hops. I was half expecting this to be a filtered version of their Kellerbier as it’s about the same color and exact alcohol content. This however is much tastier with a balanced hoppy palate and plenty of malt backbone. The clean finish is just dry and bitter enough to make it moreish.
