Hütten Bock

Brewery: Hütten
Town:
Hütten (Warmensteinach)
Style: Bock 7.2%

Color: golden

Head: white, creamy
Nose:
richly malty, touch of honey, fair alcohol
Body: full
Palate:
balanced, richly malty, touch of honey, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: from a bottle bought in Bayreuth

Impression: Good looking golden Bock with a fair head and honey in the richly malty nose. It’s another big Bock at 7.2% but that’s the trend and this one at least maintains good drinkability. The rich malty palate features some honey and the alcohol peeks through as it warms up. Hops peek through as well but less assertively. They dry things out well enough in the lingering bittersweet finish. Still, I think this would work better at 6.5%. This is more in Doppelbock territory.
