Glenk Festbier

amber beer in pewter lidded mug with bottle
Glenk Bräu Festbier

Brewery: Glenk Bräu (brewed by Becher-Bräu across the road)
Town:
Bayreuth
Style:
Festbier 5.2%
Color:
amber
Head: white
, ample
Nose: richly malty, hint of grain

Body:
medium
Palate:
balanced, malty
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in Bayreuth

Impression: Though I was unimpressed with their Pils, I decided to pick up their Festbier and Bock since I was in Bayreuth shopping. Though a contract brew from Becher Bräu, this is a fair enough Festbier with a nice amber hue and rich malty nose. The richly malty palate has enough hops (even if extract) to dry it out in the lingering finish.
