Kulmbach

%
Color:
unfiltered dark amber
Head: off-white, rocky, ample

Nose: faint mix of grain and hops

Body:
medium
Palate:
malty, light grain, faint hops
Finish: lingering

Served: from a bottle bought in Munich

Impression: Great looking beer with a massive rocky lasting head but the faint nose of grain and hops foretells of an overall light in flavor beer as well. It’s balanced enough and the finish has enough hops to keep it from being sticky but it kind of just lies there. Oddly enough, the component flavor profile is there, it’s just dialed down a bunch of notches. If I went to a party and it was in the fridge, I wouldn’t shy away from it but buy it again I doubt I will. Smooth often means bland and in this case, it’s true.
