Mönchshof Landbier

golden beer in pewter lidded mug with swing top bottle
Mönchshof Landbier

Brewery: Mönchshof
Style: Märzen 5.4
deep golden
Head: white, creamy

Nose: malty
, faint grain, hops
balanced, malty, light grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in Munich

Impression: Nice looking deep golden with a fair white ample head and the best nose of the lot, a fair mix of grain and hops. Balanced palate is more of the same with a predominantly malty palate, offset well with grain and underlying hops which peek through nicely in the lingering finish. Best of the four Mönchshof beers sampled in this tasting. It’s far from being particularly good but compared to the Märzen I just drank, it’s pretty damn drinkable.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
