Hummel Maibock

Brewery: Hummel
Town:
Merkendorf
Style: Maib
ock 7%
Color:
deep golden
Head: white,
creamy
Nose: richly
malty, floral hops, a touch of honey
Body: full

Palate:
balanced, richly malty, floral hops, hint of honey
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: On tap at the brewery

Impression: I’d chosen their Dunkler Bock over their Heller Bock the previous season so was happy to see this, figuring it might be a relabeled Bock but it turned out be a different one, 7% compared to 7.5%. It was a lovely balanced richly malty Hellerbock with nice floral notes and a touch of honey. Dangerously drinkable at 7% and better than many.
