Göller Sommerbier
Brewery: Göller
Town: Drosendorf
Style: Sommerbier
Color: unfiltered yellow
Head: white, creamy
Nose: floral hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, floral hops, lightly citrusy
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: This was a pleasant surprise as I’d been there quite a bit in previous weeks so anything new is always welcome. This summer-y, hoppy, relatively low in alcohol brew hit the spot. Floral hops in the nose lead to a lightly citrusy palate that remains only slightly bitter. A very easy drinking session beer, perfect for their Biergarten.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
