Düll Krautheimer Helles
Brewery: Düll
Town: Krautheim
Style: Helles 4.9%
Color: in Krug so no visuals but light golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: malty, light grain, white pepper
Body: medium, effervescent
Palate: balanced, malty, spicy, light white pepper
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Krautheimer Biergarten
Impression: In a Krug so no visuals but getting the white pepper in both the nose and palate that I tasted in the bottles but it’s more integrated and rounded. It’s one of the driest helles I’ve had and in no way Bavarian. It’s interesting to say the least and quite quaffable on a hot afternoon.

I'm an American living in Munich. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also just published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria. View all posts by beerwanderers
