Roth Volksfestbier
Brewery: Roth
Town: Schweinfurt
Style: Festbier 5.7%
Color: pale amber
Head: white, rocky, chiffon-like
Nose: mix of grain and hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, richly malty, lightly grainy, hint of spice, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, very slight bitterness
Served: from a bottle bought in Schweinfurt
Impression: Very attractive Festbier with a pale amber hue and rocky chiffon like head. Fair nose of grain and light spice. Fairly balanced richly malty palate with just enough hops to make for a lingering finish which begs for another sip. Must admit I wasn’t expecting much but it’s better than many a Festbier.
