Roth Schwarzbier

dark beer in glass with bottle
Roth Schwarzbier

Brewery: Roth
Town: Schweinfurt

Style: Schwarzbier 4.8
deep mahogany
Head: tan
, rocky, chiffon-like
Nose: light roast

Body: medium

Palate: balanced, nice light roast element, underlying hops, quite dry
Finish: clean, dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in Schweinfurt

Impression: This is one great looking Schwarzbier with a massive long lasting head and surprisingly dry palate. I wasn’t expecting much and not particularly my style but this one is one of my favorites. It’s malty and roasty but beautifully dry despite any obvious heavy hopping. The finish is clean with a nice inviting bitterness. I could session on this.
