Roth Pils on tap

Roth Bier (Pils)

Brewery: Roth
Town: Schweinfurt

Style: Pils 4.9
%
Color: golden

Head:
white, rocky, chiffon-like
Nose: light grain
, hoppy
Body: medium

Palate: balanced, lightly grainy, hoppy
Finish: clean, dry, semi-bitter

Served: on tap at Zum Roth in Schweinfurt

Impression: While not the majestic pour of my Helles earlier, this was still a great looking Pils with a golden hue and rocky head. It had the same mix of grain and hops in the pleasantly enticing nose as the bottled sample as well. The balanced palate is pretty much the same: grainy, hoppy and quite dry. The clean finish is quite dry and just bitter enough to make it moreish. While still better than their Helles, the tap version of the latter was heaps better than the bottled one and good competition for this formidable Pils. It’s called Roth Bier on the menu rather than Pils and has its own glass to the Helles.
