Brauwastl Annafestbier
Brewery: Brauwastl
Town: Forchheim
Style: Festbier
Color: amber
Head: off-white, rocky
Nose: nice mix of malt & hops
Body: medium, soft
Palate: balanced, richly malty, great hop character
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the Brauwastl Keller at Annafest
Impression: The brewer took forever to pour it but an amazing looking brew with a massive super rocky head was the prize. I’d had it the previous year but at the tale end of a long day/evening at Annafest. I liked it so much I made a plan to stop by briefly this year to resample as didn’t have time for a full visit. It’s by far the hoppiest beer at the fest but there’s lots of malt balance well into the moresishly dry finish.
