dark beer in logo glass
Martinsbräu Landbier Dunkel

Brewery: Martinsbräu
Town: Marktheidenfeld

Style: Dunkel 5.1
Color: chestnut

Head: 0ff-
white, creamy
hint of chocolate and coffee
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, richly malty, some chocolate and fine hopping
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: on tap at the Martinsbräu Bräustüble

Impression: While not quite as impressive a pour as the Weizen, you can see they take pride in the appearance of their beers. It’s much richer than its 5.1% with hints of chocolate and coffee in the nose and palate. The underlying hops are very much in the background but remain a drying influence throughout. Later with dinner, having one after three fairly hoppy Pils and it’s holding its own. Chocolate more pronounced and I like the finish more.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
