Böheim Helles
Brewery: Böheim Bier (formerly Brauer-Vereinigung Pegnitz, now brewed by Heberbräu)
Town: Kirchenthumbach (formerly in Pegnitz)
Style: Helles 4.9%
Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, thinning
Nose: malty, light hop
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, light hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Gasthaus Ponfick
Impression: I’d wanted to check this place out for a couple of years and after walking from Brauerei Herold, we had 20 minutes to kill before the next train. Decent looking unfiltered Helles with some hops in the nose. Balanced palate with hops from the start. Lingering finish is dry enough. Could certainly drink a couple but wouldn’t likely return unless in the same situation.
