golden beer in pewter lidded mug with bottle
Will-Bräu Helles

Town: Motten

Style: Helles 4.9
%
Color: golden

Head:
white, rocky, chiffon like
Nose: light grain

Body: medium

Palate: balanced, lightly grainy, mown grass
Finish: clean, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought in Ostheim

Impression: I saw some beer from an unknown brewery to me, Will-Bräu and a friend confirmed their authenticity as a Franconian brewery. It’s evidently been bought up by a Fulda brewery but still brewed on the premises. It seems to feel more Bavarian if the blue and white on their labels mean anything but fine looking and well made they are. The chiffon like rocky head and grainy nose are textbook as is the malt forward grainy palate. The clean finish is just dry enough to make this a beer you’d be happy to drink all day.
