Strecks Brauhaus Weizen

weizen in glass with bottle
Strecks Brauhaus Weizen

Brewery: Strecks Brauhaus
Town: Osterheim vor der Rhön

Style: Weizen 5
%
Color: honeycomb

Head:
white, creamy, yeasty
Nose: fruity, yeasty

Body: medium

Palate: malty, light fruit, yeasty
Finish: lingering, semi-dry

Served: from a bottle bought in Ostheim

Impression: Good looking Weizen with a lovely honeycomb hue and less impressive head than their other beers. The fruity nose is restrained but the palate, while quite light, is nicely balanced and refreshing. It’s less cloying than many but it’s not a beer I’d seek to drink on its own. I don’t find a lot of Weizens which fill that description but it’s a fine thirst quencher on a warm day and it goes well with Weisswurst. That’s what I’m having it with right now.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
