Strecks Brauhaus Burgherrenpils

Brewery: Strecks Brauhaus
Town: Osterheim vor der Rhön

Style: Pils 4.8
Color: deep golden

white, rocky
Nose: light grain
, underlying hops
Body: medium

Palate: balanced, nice grain element, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: on tap at the Zur Krone in Ostheim vor der Rhön

Impression: This is a classic this would make a great Helles Pils. It’s gorgeous to behold with a sturdy rocky head but the grainy nose belies the malt below. It’s certainly dry enough but the firm malt background and grain seem to overpower the hops. The lingering finish is dry enough to be a great session beer, but not crisp enough to be a true German Pils. I really like the beer and in the end I guess that’s as important as anything.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
