Rother-Bräu Öko Ur-Weizen
Brewery: Rother-Bräu
Town: Roth (Hausen/Rhön)
Style: Weizen 5.3%
Color: light honeycomb
Head: white, rocky, yeasty, lasting
Nose: fruity, yeasty
Body: medium
Palate: fruity, yeasty, citrusy
Finish: lingering, semi-dry
Served: from a bottle bought in the area
Impression: This was a gorgeous pour with a lasting rocky head and fruity nose. Balanced and refreshing fruity/citrusy palate with a nice dryness to the lingering finish. I’ll have to admit I wasn’t expecting much but this is a Weizen I’d be happy to drink on a hot summer day or with Weisswurst.
Next beer or back to the beer list.

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
